1. Who We Are

JobMaxx operates a job board. People looking for work use it to search listings we source. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights over it. References to “we”, “us”, or “our” mean JobMaxx.

2. Data We Collect

Account data

When you register we collect your email address, a hashed password, and your account creation timestamp. Accounts are for people looking for work, and for admins who run the board.

Profile data (seekers)

Experience level, skills, location preferences, remote preference, salary floor, and an optional resume file. All fields are optional beyond email and password.

Job listings

We store listings we source from career pages we choose to include: title, company, description, salary range, and the link to apply. Those listings are public. They are about the role, not about you.

Applications

A listing sends you to the hiring company's own application page. What you enter there is collected by that company under their policy, not this one. If you applied on JobMaxx in the past, that application stays on your account until you delete it.

Usage data

We record limited first-party marketing CTA clicks on our own pages (e.g. which call-to-action buttons are clicked) to understand how users navigate to sign-up. We do not use third-party advertising trackers, and we honor browser opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control for this analytics capture.

Payment data

JobMaxx does not process payments. We do not collect card numbers or billing profiles.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To operate the platform — account authentication, job matching, fit scoring, and alert delivery
• To improve trust and safety — moderation, report review, fraud detection
• To send transactional emails — email verification, password resets, and job alerts you subscribed to

We do not sell your data to advertisers. We do not use your data to train AI models. We do not share your data with third parties except as described in section 4.

4. Data Sharing

We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• With a hiring company — only for an application you submitted on JobMaxx. Current listings send you to the company's own form. We do not send your profile or resume with that link
• With our email provider — your email address and the content of transactional emails
• As required by law — if compelled by a valid legal order

5. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Resume files are automatically deleted after 180 days of inactivity, or immediately when you delete your account.

Audit logs are retained for up to 10,000 entries on a rolling basis.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — download a copy of your data from your profile page at any time
• Delete your data — permanently delete your account and all associated data from your profile page
• Correct your data — update your profile information at any time
• Unsubscribe from alerts — one-click unsubscribe link is included in every alert email
• Object to processing — contact us at the address below

We aim to respond to all data requests within 30 days.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie is essential for the platform to function and is not used for tracking.

We use browser localStorage to remember your light/dark mode preference.

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. First-party CTA analytics does not set analytics cookies and is disabled when your browser sends supported opt-out signals.

8. Security

Passwords are hashed with scrypt and never stored in plain text. MFA secrets are encrypted at rest, password-reset tokens are hashed, and all data is transmitted over HTTPS.

We perform regular backups and maintain an audit log of all sensitive moderation actions.

9. Children

JobMaxx is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has registered, please contact us and we will delete the account promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
